Kaštela is the name of a conurbation of 7 municipalities in the Split-Dalmatia County in Croatia. Kaštela is located in central Dalmatia on the shore of the Kastel bay of the Adriatic Sea. The individual villages are interconnected and stretch along the coast between the UNESCO-protected cities of Trogir and Split. There is one of the longest promenades in Croatia. The conurbation has almost 40,000 citizens.
Kaštelas have an old tradition of seaside recreation, reaching deep into history. You can feel the breath of the the typical Dalmatian stone buildings and the medieval atmosphere. Famous are the Dalmatian beaches with a combination of coarse sand and finer pebbles, which most visitors find more pleasant than the stony beaches of Istria. Kaštelas are characterized by their many coastal fortresses ("kaštel" in Croatian) built during the wars with the Turks.
The charming diversity of the local landscape only contributes to a wonderful vacation in Kaštela. On one side rises the 779 meter high Kozjak massif with steep rock walls, on the other side is the azure blue sea with beaches and islands of all sizes, plenty of sun and a pleasant climate.

The villa stands right on the promenade, where you will find many restaurants, bars and entertainment. The UNESCO-protected historical center of Trogir is only 8 km away and the UNESCO-protected center of Split is 18 km away. The distance to Zračna Luka Split Airport is 6 km. A bus stop is right next to the airport terminal. Bus number 37 connects the main route Trogir-Split and normally runs every 20 minutes with stops in all of the Kaštela villages.
